Texas Construction Worker Dies In Accident

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (AP) — A construction worker has died after being trapped under some dirt compacting equipment in a Southeast Texas industrial accident.

The Galveston County Daily News (http://bit.ly/1fhCN5Q ) reported Wednesday that autopsy results are pending on the 49-year-old man.

League City police did not immediately release the name of the victim, who was critically injured late Monday and died hours later.

Investigators say the man was driving a compactor on a pile of dirt when the equipment overturned. The victim, who died at a hospital, was working on a project to widen League City Parkway.
