Amarillo Mayoral Race Heating Up

It's almost time for Amarilloans to decide on whether to keep current Mayor Harpole in office or chose the alternative.

Polls will be open on May 11th.  The mayor's term lasts for two years.  So far, not many have stepped up to the plate to run for the spot.

Newcomer Terry Baughman was the only other person to file to run against Mayor Harpole.  He's a 32-year old assistant manager at a local drugstore.

While Harpole is an ardent supporter of the ongoing downtown revitalization, Baughman would like to see a shift of funds to other areas.
