Mayor Harpole Proclaimed Monday Shanna Peeples Day

Yesterday the recently reelected Mayor of Amarillo proclaimed May 11, 2015 as Shanna Peeples day.

She's basically a hometown hero.  Shanna Peeples was named National Teacher of the Year about two weeks ago.  It's been somewhat of a whirlwind ride for Peeples since.

She's met President Obama, received letters of congratulations from both former Bush presidents and yesterday she was recognized at the Civic Center.  The Palo Duro High School band and the cheerleading squads.

Peeples was back in the classroom, again doing the job she was honored for, yesterday after being absent since being given the kudos.
