This seems to be a huge controversy right now. With gas prices rising out of control, the government is again pushing the electric vehicle. There is only one problem with that, people don't want to drive them.

To start, most of the country can't afford to head down to the dealer and purchase a brand new vehicle right now. Most can't even head to the used dealership and purchase a vehicle with the current state of the economy.

The government sees the electric car, like the Chevy Volt, as the solution to this and to the consumption of oil and gas. The problem comes down to the consumer. People who are able to buy new cars are not buying electric. There is not a demand for these vehicles.

So here is the question. If you were heading down to the dealership to purchase a brand new vehicle, would you buy an electric car?
