FBI Announces Measures To Combat Digital Piracy

The FBI has released a warning to computer owners about an insidious virus that comes with a message that makes it all too easy for you to justify biting on the scam.

The Reveton Ransom-ware installs itself much like any other virus ridden software will; the user inadvertently initiates the install once they have clicked on a compromised website.

What makes this virus especially nasty is once the virus begins to execute its malicious code it first locks down the computer rendering most users powerless to fix it.

Next a message is displayed that appears to be from the FBI.  The message states the user has violated some federal law associated with child pornography or other illegal online activity.  Victims are told they must pay a fine to unlock their computer.

If you have this occur call a professional PC specialist in immediately.
