An inmate at the Curry County Jail has filed a civil lawsuit against Curry County for allegedly violating her constitutional rights.

The plaintiff is Veronica Galvan.  She was severely beaten by another inmate on February 1, 2014.  She was subsequently transferred to another facility.  She claims the transfer was a punitive measure due to the fight.  At the second facility she was forced to remove her clothing in front of a closed-circuit television monitor viewed by three male detention officers.

Galvan also claim that her medical needs were ignored, and the facility is filled with toxic mold.

She is seeking damages, punitive damages, attorney's fees and injunctive relief.
