Amarillo Police are investigating an armed robbery of an Amarillo Boulevard business on Thursday.

APD officers were called to Lydia’s Fashion and Design in the 2200 block of Amarillo Boulevard at around 7pm Thursday night.  Victims told police a man came into the store, picked up 8 to 10 Valentine’s Day gift baskets and attempted to leave.  A store employee approached the man when the thief raised his shirt revealing a handgun and told the employee to step back or he would shoot.

The man then ran out the store with employees following him as he dropped gift baskets along the way.

The APD investigation is ongoing.  The man is described as a clean-cut white male, 5′ 9″, 25-30 years old with a slim build.  He was last seen running east from the store.

APD says no one was injured in the incident.  If you have any information on this crime contact Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
