Amarillo Fire Marshal Releases Cause Of Apartment Fire

Yesterday morning the Amarillo Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at The Enclave Apartments.

The apartments, located at 6209 I-40 West were smoky when fire crews arrived.  While attempting to determine the source of the smoke the apartments were evacuated.  Fire was discovered in a wall and the ceiling area on the 2nd floor of the building.

The Fire Fighters extinguished the blaze and reported no injuries.  The property sustained an estimated $25,000 in damage.

The Fire Marshal has determined the cause of the fire was a malfunctioning heating unit.
