Hurricane Sandy caused a lot of damage on the east coast and the folks there need lots of help getting things back in order.  Especially the power.

Damage assessments are still being made but that doesn't mean help isn't on the way.  Xcel Energy is sending more than 30 employees to Virginia to help with the effort to restore power service to customers in the area.  This includes some employees based out of Amarillo.

The Xcel employees will be assisting Appalachian Power Company.  The company made the request for assistance through a national mutual aid network.
