Woman Robs Big Texan Inn At Gunpoint

At around 6:00am this morning Amarillo Police responded to a armed robbery call at the Big Texan Inn.

The motel employee on duty told officers that a white female entered the motel office.  The suspect walked behind the counter.  When the employee told the suspect to step back to the front of the counter the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.  She then made the employee go into a closet or storage area in the office before leaving.

About an hour later an Amarillo Police officer saw a woman matching the suspects description leaving a motel room near Amarillo Boulevard and N. Manhattan.  She was taken into custody.

APD Robbery Detectives are still investigating the case.
