Unmarked Amarillo Police Car In Collision While Attempting Traffic Stop

Yesterday an Amarillo Police officer in an unmarked car was in a traffic collision while attempting to pull over another driver.It happened near the I-27 and Moss street exit.  When the office activated his emergency lights to pull a speeder over, the speeder exited at Moss street. The officer quickly changed lanes and was struck by a third vehicle, causing the police vehicle to spin around.The officer suffered minor injuries in the accident.

The driver of the speeding vehicle fled the scene.  Police are on the lookout for a 2011-2013 black Ford F150 4-door crew cab.  The collision is still under investigation.
