Local high school football teams struggled in non-district games on Friday.

Caprock traveled to Lubbock to face the Estacado Matadors. The Longhorns trailed by just four points at halftime but failed to get on the board in the second and suffered their first loss of the season 31-10.

Palo Duro didn't fare any better.  The Dons fell behind early and lost 42-14 to a very good Wichita Falls Rider team.

Randall battled Monterey at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium riding the momentum of an upset of Lubbock Cooper in their first game.  However, the Raiders never found the magic from week one and fell to the Plainsmen 42-16.

River Road came close against Dalhart but ended up losing 36-29.

Highland Park lost to Vega 55-7.
