The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon, Your Knight In Shinning Armor

Last Saturday on KIXZ we bought, sold and traded.

It's the show that turns the airwaves over to you allowing you to rid your life of the things you no longer want but are too valuable to throw away.  We do it every Saturday morning at 9am .  Think of it as a public service provided by News Talk 940 and Town Square Media.  As always you are invited to call or sit back and wait for the next titillating bargain to pique your interest.

THE BIG QUESTION

We ask all our callers a poll question before they give their items.  It provides a stream of thought for the show and helps it be as non-sequitur.  This week it was a little different.  Instead of your opinion we needed to know if you wanted to win.

Specifically we had a pair of tickets for the Broadway version of "Camelot".  The show will be at the Civic Center Wednesday and Thursday nights.  Our question this week was whether you wanted in the drawing or not.

RULE #6

Along with the regular rules of conduct on the show I always bring you a special "rule #6".  It is usually inspired by something that happened to me or a thought I had during the previous week.

Last week I was talking to my incredibly talented daughter, Katilyn G.  She's attending the University of Texas at San Antonio studying music.  She had her first big performance in San Antonino over the weekend.  Earlier in the week we were discussing things.  She feels pretty torn with all her school work and performing.

We also talked about how difficult it is to take raw talent and hone it.  Even with a great education reaching musical dreams can be tough.  I spouted out something and we both agreed it would make a good rule.

Rule #6: It is possible to be an artist without talent or a talent with no grace for art but the master achieves balance between the two.

Yes, we were feeling very "zen" on this show last weekend.
