The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon Yet To Erect Christmas Tree

We had another busy Saturday morning of buying, selling and trading on The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon.

It's the show where you can buy and sell pretty much anything except guns and ammunition; that's what Erwin Pawn is for.  It's want ads on the radio. All you have to do to participate is call in or as always you can just sit back and listen.  You're certain to hear an item or two that will pique your interest.

THE BIG QUESTION

We ask all our callers a poll question before they give their items.  Being Thanksgiving weekend we expected a lot of you to have your Christmas tree up or in the process of being erected.  We were curious how many of you had already gotten the center piece of your Christmas display up.

Trade-A-Thon callers apparently not feeling the Christmas tree spirit.  For the record, I got mine up the weekend before Thanksgiving.  I had company stay over and I wanted them to see it.  It's a Dallas Cowboys tree and I'm quite proud of it.

RULE #6

Along with the customary and regular rules of the program I always bring a special rule #6.  Sometimes it is inspired by something that has happened to me over the previous week and sometimes it is topical.  Last Saturday was "Small Business Saturday" which fell on the heels of "Black Friday" and we were looking ahead to "Cyber Monday".

I know there are a lot of so called bargains this time of year.  Is it really a good deal if you weren't going to buy the item in the first place?  It's like shopping at the warehouse store.  If you can't consume ten gallons of picante sauce before it goes bad is it really a good deal?  It made for fertile ground for this weeks special rule.

Rule #6: A good deal is only a good deal if you were going to buy it anyway.
