The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon Measures The Snow
Another Saturday morning of buying, selling, and trading was enjoyed by all.
It's the show that opens up the lucrative airwaves of KIXZ for your reselling pleasure. It's want ads on the radio and we do it every Saturday from nine to noon.
THE BIG QUESTION
We ask all our callers a poll question before they give their items. Not only does it help us get to know you better it provides a running theme during the show.
We got our first significant snowfall last Friday and that meant the question on everyone's lips was one of quantity. Did you have it as good as the Joneses?
How much snow did you get?
We got answers from all over the map. We had a reported low of 1 1/2 inches in Pampa to over 5 west of Amarillo.
At the Fortress of Solitude apartment I got a healthy 3 inches, Porky got 2 in North Amarillo.
We have rules to the show and we recite them at the beginning of each hour. Along with the regular five rules, I always bring you a special Rule #6 that changes every week.
Sometimes inspired by a thought I had or an incident I was involved in, this week I learned how to wear a ski mask.
If you wear glasses you know the pitfalls of wearing something over your face. Inevitably your glasses fog over, forcing you to abandon your facial protection. I was wearing one in the cold last week and had exactly this problem. Then a serendipitous adjustment and I was able to go fog-free.
Rule #6: Poke your nose through the mouth hole when wearing a ski mask with glasses.
See you this Saturday for another Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon!
