Nestled in between Good Friday and Easter Sunday we found time to bring buyers and sellers together, Saturday on The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon.

It's the show where you can buy, sell and trade pretty much anything but guns and ammunition.  We leave the gun dealing to Erwin Pawn.  Hopefully you tuned in.  If you missed it tune in next Saturday and enjoy the festivities.  Or perhaps list an item or two for sale.

THE BIG QUESTION

We ask all our callers a poll question before they give their items.  We've been doing the show a long time and have run the gambit of Easter themed questions.  What we came up with was decidedly different.

Which would you rather have, a chocolate rabbit or Hasenpfeffer?

Chocolate 16

Hasenpfeffer 11

If you aren't familiar with Hasenpfeffer it is a rabbit stew.  It is best known in America from Looney Tunes.  There was a king who constantly demanded his Hasenpfeffer and Bugs Bunny was often narrowly escaping the stew pot as a dish.  I've never tried it but many of our callers have and most claim it was delicious.

RULE #6

Along with the regular rules of the program we always bring you a special rule #6.  This week we went with an Easter theme.  It appears that each year Easter becomes more about colored eggs and baby chickens.  Being the holiest of holy days, the recognition  of the resurrection seems to get lost in egg hunts and seasonal confections.

Rule #6 Inculcate your children about the meaning of Easter at an early age and do it without adulterating its meaning by making it a play day with Easter treats and egg hunts.

It seems like with each passing year Easter becomes more about consumerism and less about religion.

See you next Saturday for another Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon!
