Another political season is in full swing. The polls are open. This one is important too. It touches a lot more of us on a local level. Early voting kicked off on Monday so now is the time to make your voice heard.

It was just earlier this month when I received the questionnaire from Potter County for Jury Duty. I filled it out. It was online. Simple. Just a few questions. I knew it was just a matter of time before I would receive a summons. I see you Potter County. I know how you work.

Nothing has been worse than seeing everything that we loved last year get cancelled. We get it. We were living through a freaking pandemic. Who knew that was going to be a year in the making.

I always joke that Potter County calls me at least twice a year for Jury Duty. I really don't mind going. I promise Potter County. Please don't put me on some secret list. Heck many times when I show up I make it on the jury. Most the time I am actually chosen as foreman. I guess it is my quiet demeanor.

The Potter County side of Amarillo is getting a new District Courthouse. Hopefully this one can last more than just 36 years.

New Year New Me is what we hear a lot going into the New Year. It seems this year the saying is a little different.

What we do know is Billy Ivy Jr was confirmed dead by Potter County’s Brian Thomas. He was found alone and unresponsive in his cell this morning.
