City officials have announced Southwest Airlines will be reducing the number of flights out of Amarillo.

Currently there are seven flights from Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport to Dallas Love Field.  Starting in August there will only be five flights.

The changes come with the expiration of the Wright Amendment.  The amendment requires Southwest flights from Dallas Love Field to touch down in Texas or surrounding states.  Starting in October, Southwest flights from Dallas will not have to touch down in secondary cities.
