The Supreme Court ruled last week that the LGBT community has the constitutional right to marry.

The landmark ruling was celebrated by Amarillo's LGBT community over the weekend during the 4th Annual Panhandle Pride celebration.

Hundreds of LGBT community members and allies gathered at Memorial Park in Amarilllo for food, games and entertainment.  There was also a lot of celebrating.

If you are now free to pursue your marital dreams with this ruling and live in Texas you are asked to be patient before you head down to the JP.  The Texas Attorney General has asked County Courts to hold off on granting marriage licenses to same sex couples due to the state not having any gender neutral marriage license application forms.  It is not known and has not be disclosed how long it will take the state to design, print and mail blanks to all Texas counties.

The state does not appear to be in a hurry.
