Two late night burglaries in the past week have police concerned and warning the public of the potential danger.

The first burglary happened in the 3500 block of Lometa between 3 and 6am.  The suspect broke in through a back door and stole a flat screen TV.  The second was in the 3800 block of Lenwood.  A witness says he heard noises coming from the home around 4am.  The burglar managed to gain entrance by prying open the back door.  The suspect took a purse and wallet.  One of the home owners cars was broken into and a second car was stolen, a black hail damaged 2005 Dodge Magnum.

The concerning issue is both homes were occupied during the burglaries.  Amarillo police advise residents to ensure that doors are solid with heavy duty deadbolts and locks.  If you notice any suspicious activity contact Amarillo police at 378-3038.
