Police Investigating Dead Body Found At Amarillo Hotel

Amarillo Police and the Special Crimes Unit are investigating the scene at the Economy Inn Motel where at female body was found on Sunday.

The police are treating the death as a homicide although a preliminary investigation has lead officer to believe that may not be the cause of death.

Police have not release the name or age of the victim.  The police believe the victim was alone but will not confirm if drugs or alcohol were involved.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.
