NFL Hopeful Christine Michael Says NyQuil Made Him Sleep Through Combine Interviews

Former Texas A&M running back Christine Michael blamed cold medicine for sleeping through a pair of scheduled interviews at last month’s NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. Almost certain to be selected in the 2013 NFL Draft this April, Michael had a fantastic combine, impressing scouts by leading all running backs in the broad jump, vertical jump, 20-yard shuttle, three-cone drill and bench press.
Scouts were not impressed when Michael didn’t show up for two scheduled interviews with teams, though. He had an explanation: NyQuil. Michael released the info via the Aggie Sports’ Twitter.
Christine Michael said he went into NFL Combine extremely sick, Nyquil knocked him out so he overslept. Said he apologized to teams.

The sniffing, sneezing, coughing, aching, why-aren’t-any-running-backs-going-in-the-first-round medicine? Yep, that one. Maybe he hasn’t heard of DayQuil.
Michael apologized to the teams, and he still seems to be among the best athletes in a weak draft class for running backs. Let’s just hope that he doesn’t have the sniffles prior to draft day (or once he turns pro).
