A public meeting was recently held to discuss new commercial vehicle fees at Rick Husband Airport.

The City of Amarillo says the ordinance changes are to establish uniform commercial ground vehicle standards, provide revenue to maintain airport systems that support ground commercial vehicles, and compensate the airport for administration and enforcement of operating standards.

Most don’t expect customers to see any fee changes although drivers could be on the hook for more charges to ownership in the form of higher lease fees. Charges to customers are set by the city commission.
