There is no more feel-good story in sports right now than the Kansas City Royals. And you're about to like them even more.

After the Royals finished off their surprising sweep of the Angels in the American League Divisional Series, the team celebrated by thanking its fans in a way you don't normally see.

First baseman Eric Hosmer put out a call on Twitter inviting the team's fans to a bar in town.

As if that's not enough, Hosmer put down his own credit card and bought drinks for everyone in the bar for an hour. And you thought Katy Perry knew how to get sports fans riled up.

The Royals haven't won the World Series since 1985, which is the last year the team even made the playoffs. Only four players on the roster were alive at that time. You don't need to be a sabretician to realize this city is starved for a winner (we'd say thirsty, but it looks like Hosmer helped quench their thirst).

And you don't need to be a party organizer to know the city may implode if they win the whole shabang this year and that Hosmer may want to apply for an extra line of credit to prepare for the celebration that will follow.
