It’s Hot and So is the Hot Blooded Run to Benefit The Bridge
Even though it’s the middle of July, that doesn’t stop folks from running for a great cause. Amarillo runners are tightening up their laces and getting ready to run to help out the Bridge.
The Hot Blooded Run returns to Amarillo on July 29th. Karen Roberts with Get fit has teamed up with The Bridge Advocacy Center to offer this awesome run to raise money.
If you are a runner and want to take part you have options. You can run a 10K or a 5K. If you feel that you can’t do a long run you can still take part in their 1 mile walk/run.
Entry fee into any of the races is $25 and you have to register in advance for the run. If you are one of the first 200 to register you will receive a Hot Blooded Run t-shirt.
You can register at Get Fit, 1911 S. Georgia or
Awards will be given in the timed events.
This year the Coffee Memorial Blood Center will be on location. If you give blood you’ll receive a pair of socks from Get Fit.
About the Bridge:
The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center opened its doors in Amarillo in 1989 and was Texas’ first Children’s Advocacy Center. The Bridge is a comprehensive, child-focused program that offers a highly effective, one-stop approach to child abuse investigation. The facility allows law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors and the mental health and medical communities to work together to best serve victims of child abuse and sexual assault. The center offers a comfortable, private, child-friendly setting where forensic interviews and sexual exams can be conducted.
