Geraldo Rivera was featured on Fox & Friends Friday morning and made a statement that is getting major backlash in the news. He stated that the hoodie that Trayvon Martin was wearing at the time of his death is as much to blame as the shooter.

"People wearing a hoodie are going to often be perceived as a menace" Rivera Said.

Martin was on his way home from a trip to a convenience store and wearing a hoodie when a neighborhood watch member started following him. George Zimmerman, volunteer, said that Martin looked suspicious and eventually confronted him. He is claiming that the killing was self defense.

"I'll bet you money that if he didn't have that hoodie on, that nutty neighborhood watch guy wouldn't have responded in that violent and aggressive way," Rivera said.

BET is going to air a special called "Shoot First, The Tragedy Of Trayvon Martin" this coming monday.

"If you dress like a hoodlum eventually some schmuck is going to take you at your word," Geraldo wrote on Fox New Latino.
