LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) — An East Texas woman arrested outside a hospital has been sentenced to 12 years in prison in a failed plot to steal a baby.

The Longview News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1ggWacP ) reported Wednesday that investigators believe 31-year-old Tanya Bradley of Longview planned to attack a new mother and take the baby or kill a pregnant woman and remove the fetus.

A complaint says Bradley had a miscarriage in 2011 but told relatives that she was still pregnant.

Nobody was injured in June 2012 as Longview police arrested Bradley near Good Shepherd Medical Center. Court documents indicate some friends alerted police after shopping with Bradley for weapons and learning of the plot.

Bradley in December pleaded guilty to aggravated kidnapping and was sentenced Tuesday. She originally was charged with attempt to commit capital murder.
