Have we bitten off more than we can chew?  I decided to take a walk through the downtown area today to see just how much construction is going on. I found a lot more than I thought I would. Construction and street closures have made getting around in downtown Amarillo a bit of a hassle, even on foot.  And it's not just downtown.  It feels like construction is happening all over the city.

Recently, two articles came out praising our city.  One claimed Amarillo is a great place for young professionals (I agree).  Another article ranked Amarillo as a fun place to live (I also agree). Both of those will be even more true once the road/downtown construction is finished and the new ballpark is done being constructed.

Despite the optimism I feel knowing that I moved to a city that is growing in every direction, I'm still feeling frustrated with having to change my routes around town to avoid congestion.  What do you think? Have we bitten off more than we can chew?  Do we have too many projects happening at once?
