Charge Your IPod With Your Heart

Apple Launches Upgraded iPod

It isn’t new technology but it is becoming robust to the point of allowing you to charge small devices like an iPod.  This would work for everyone except maybe my last wife.

Dr Zhong Lin Wang and his team have developed a device that uses nanowires and human motion to generate power equal to that provided by two AA batteries.

They believe the potential exists for powering larger devices like a cell phone.  I can’t imagine the battery companies are too excited about this but using my personal base of underutilized electricity sounds groovy to me.  I wonder how many barrels of oil it will save?

Although this does get us one step closer to The Matrix.
