Canyon Buys Land To Secure Future Water Supply For City

The City of Canyon has taken a huge step towards securing their water supply for the future.

Canyon recently purchased a 175-acre section of land the city's assets.  The land was purchased primarily for the water that lies underneath the surface.  When developed the land is expected to produce hundreds of thousands of gallons per day when tapped.

Our climate and frequent droughts led the city to make the $540,000 purchase.  For now the land will remain undeveloped and the water untapped until the city needs it.

The land is located north of Canyon near Rockwell and Georgia.
