DETROIT (AP) — Cadillac is showing off a low-lying two-door coupe that is likely the prototype for the brand's re-entry into the large luxury car market.

The General Motors brand unveiled the Elmiraj (El Mirage) concept a luxury car event in Carmel, Calif., this week.

Concept cars usually are built by hand to show off how a new vehicle might look. GM's CEO has said that Cadillac is developing a large rear-drive sedan that will come out in the next two years.

The four-seat Elmiraj has a streamlined look with sharp angles at the corners, LED headlamps and huge 22-inch wheels.

The car is about as long as an Audi A8 or Mercedes S Class sedan. It's powered by a 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 that puts out around 500 horsepower.
