A car street racing another crashed into a parked car and a home early yesterday.

Emergency responders and Amarillo PD responded to the accident call just after midnight yesterday to the 2600 block of NE 6th.  Officers found a silver 2004 Chevrolet that was racing along North Nelson when the driver lost control, left the roadway, struck wooden and chain link fences at 2617 and 2619 NE 6th and then struck a parked red Hyundai parked in the driveway at 2619.

The home revived minor damage but both vehicles sustained heavy damage.  Witnesses informed police the silver Chevrolet was racing another Chevrolet, this one red.  Officers determined the race started near 3rd & North Osage.  The silver Chevy was being driven by Jonathan Trevino, 23.  Joe Angel Salinas, 27 was driving the red Chevy.

Both men were taken to Potter County on class B misdemeanor charges and they are facing fines of up to $2,000 and/or up to 180 days in jail.

There were no injuries reported.
