Amarillo Unemployment Rate Steady, Lower Than State And National Average

The Texas Workforce Commission has release unemployment numbers for Amarillo and the unemployment rate is same as it was 12 months ago.

Amarillo's unemployment rate in October was 4.4%.  The lowest in the state is Midland at 3.1%.  Statewide the rate is at about 6%.

Wages are up 5% from last year and nearly 800 more people have jobs according to the report.  Retail sales are up 12%, used car sales are up 55% over last year.
