Amarillo Grade School Teacher Charged In Teen Sex Case

An Amarillo gradeschool teacher has been charged with sexual assault of a child after a month long investigation by the Texas Rangers. The investigation uncovered a sexual relationship with a 15 year old boy.

Julie Ann Moore, 34, invited the 15 year old boy to her car and had sex with him during half-time of an Amarillo High School football game. The incident is reported to have happened in September or October.

Moore is a 3rd grade teacher at Sanborn Elementary School and at this point has not been arrested. The Amarillo Independent School District said she has been placed on administrative leave. Informed that an arrest warrant has been issued AISD had no comment.

“We are concerned to learn of the allegations and are cooperating with authorities,” the district said in a statement. “We respectfully ask the patience of the public while the authorities complete this process.”
