On August 3, Adrian Beltre joined a very small list when he became only the fourth player ever to hit three cycles in his career.

No one since 1933 has accomplished what Beltre accomplished Monday night. All of Beltre's cycles have been in Globe Life Park, and two were accomplished as a Ranger.

As a reminder: Hitting a cycle consists of a single, a double, a triple and a home run all in one game. Beltre had completed it this time by the 5th Inning. In four consecutive at-bats, Beltre got the job done -- the fastest since Melvin Upton Jr. in 2009.

This showing is just another reason Adrian Beltre is a Hall of Famer. He is crafting a resume reminiscent of the all-time greats. His defense is remarkable and in the midst of everyone screaming "decline," he's heating up, and heating up this Rangers team with him.

Since the All-Star break, eight Ranger bats are hitting above .280 including Choo at .364 and Andrus at .329. The club has also hit for power totaling 16 home runs and 61 extra base hits and 92 runs. This hot streak has been responsible for inching the Rangers within two games of the Wildcard and within seven of the division.

The Rangers have a chance to gain another game on the division leading Astros as they look for a win of the series tonight with Dan Straily (0-0, 5.06 ERA) and Yovani Gallardo (7-9, 3.39 ERA heading to the mound to duel.

Wednesday features Scott Kazmir (6-5, 2.1 ERA), who has a sparkly 0.00 ERA since coming to the Astros from the Oakland Athletics before the trade deadline, and Nick Martinez (6-6, 4.01 ERA), who has a 7+ ERA since the All-Star break.
