2 Arrested in Plot to Attack Seattle Military Center

Seattle Suspects
Department of Corrections

Two men were arrested late Wednesday after federal officials said they planned to attack a military processing center in Seattle using grenades and firearms.

Abu Khalid Abdul-Latif, also known as Joseph A. Davis, and Walli Mujahidh, also known as Frederick Domingue Jr., were arrested on charges of conspiracy to murder federal officers and employees, conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction, as well as several firearms charges, the NY Times reported.

Police said the suspects attempted to recruit a third man for their plot, but that men went to authorities, who then began monitoring Abdul-Latif, 33, and Mujahidh, 32, over the past month.

According to the 38-page complaint against the men, they were planning to carry out a deadly attack to gain maximum attention.

Mujahidh is quoted in the complaint as saying, “Ain’t gonna be no innocent women and children. That’s why I’m saying we go in there and lay everybody down, man. Everybody in that building is connected with the military.”

The men allegedly planned to use grenades and firearms in their attack.

The two suspects appeared in federal court in Seattle on Thursday, but did not enter pleas. They were ordered held without bail.
