Yesterday, wildfires broke out in the Sanford/Fritch area.  Residents we asked to begin evacuating the area.  Several homes were burned in the fires, however, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Our friend Meredith Keller from ProNews 7 posted this video this morning of fires still burning in the area.

The smoke over Sanford Fritch was picked up on the Storm Search 7 Radar
As of this morning the evacuation for Sanford was lifted.  Classes today for Sanford Fritch ISD have been cancelled.
Also, 75% of the fire has been contained and firefighters are continuing to battle the fires.  Over 1500 acres of land have been burned in the area.  Over 75 homes were destroyed or damaged in the fires.
