Water and sewer line work continues along Georgia and Hollywood

Yesterday construction began on water and sewer lines near Georgia and Hollywood Road.

The City of Amarillo Utilities Division is installing 30" water mains and 42" sewer mains in the area.

Phase I of the construction will see the closure of northbound lanes on Georgia Street. Phase II will require the closure of southbound lanes on Georgia.

The lane closures began yesterday and are expected to reopen Friday, June 6th.

The work is part of a continuing project to relocate water and sewer mains along Hollywood Road from I-27 East to the railroad track east of Georgia for the TxDot Loop 335 Expansion Project.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area during construction if possible.
