At the Amarillo Fire Department, it was a Monday.

Late last night Amarillo fire fighters were called to the property at 1023 Southwest 11th Street.  Behind the main house was an apartment home, fully engulfed.  There was no one home at the time and there were no injuries.  The structure was a complete loss.  It took about an hour and a half to extinguish the conflagration.  The fire marshal is still investigating the incident.

After that fire, just before midnight, another blaze was reported in the 400 block of South Alabama.  Arriving fire crews found a vacant home with an attached garage.  The fire was contained to the garage.  It took a little over an hour to extinguish the second fire.  No one was inside the residence and there were no injuries.  The fire marshal is also investigating the cause of the second fire.

It all meant a busy Monday for Amarillo Fire Fighters.
