Saturday afternoon Amarillo Police responded to reports of tow burglaries in the 4200 block of South Parker.

During the investigation the authorities were able to track down stolen items to a house on the 4200 block of South Travis.  27-year-old Stacy Lynn Lanier was in the home a detained.

During a search of the home investigating officers found several items belonging to the burglary victims and several identifying document s belonging to various people that were not the suspect.

Lanier was taken into custody and placed in the back seat of a patrol car while the investigation continued.

That's when 34-year-old Kay East went to the patrol car and opened the door to let Lanier out.  East and Lanier fled on foot but were quickly apprehended in the 4300 block of South Travis.

East was taken into custody for hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon.

Lanier was charged with escape while arrested/confined for a felony, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information and for a warrant for possession of a controlled substance greater than or equal to 1 gram and less the 4 grams.  Both were booked in Randall County Jail.

Officers also recovered a Pontiac G6 that had been reported stolen on March 20th.  The license plate on the vehicle was found to be stolen on April 12th.  The stolen vehicle and home burglaries are still under investigation.
