Trial Begins In Fatal Houston Stiletto Heel Stabbing
HOUSTON (AP) — The trial of a Houston woman accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend with her stiletto heel is scheduled to begin.
Opening statements are planned for Monday in a Houston courtroom in the case of Ana Trujillo (troo-HEE'-yoh). She is facing a charge of murder.
Prosecutors allege Trujillo stabbed 59-year-old Alf Stefan Andersson after the two got into an argument at his condominium in June.
Prosecutors say Andersson, a professor and researcher at the University of Houston, became angry when a man tried to buy Trujillo a drink at a nightclub the couple had visited earlier.
Trujillo's attorney, John Carroll, has said his client has "a very valid self-defense claim."
The 45-year-old Trujillo is free on a $100,000 bond.
