We lit the torch on another edition of Trade-A-Thon on Saturday.

It’s want ads on the radio and we do it every Saturday morning from 9-Noon.  Our classified ads are called in by listeners just like you.  You have a standing invitation to join us.

THE BIG QUESTION

We ask all our callers a poll question before they give their listing.  It helps us get to know them better and provides a running theme that ties together all our calls.  It is sometimes silly and occasionally makes you think.  This week we went topical.

The Winter Olympics got underway last Friday.  There has been the usual amount of promotion and hype.  It got me to pondering how many of our callers planned to watch the games.

Are you watching the Winter Olympics?

Yes 12

No 12

A rare 50/50 vote.  That is usually the sign of a good question.  Personally, I’m not very compelled to take in the games.  I find the contests difficult to follow and with the time difference usually know the results of any event I might have had mild interest in.

RULE 6

We go over the rules that govern conduct on the show at the beginning of each hour.  Along with the regular five rules, I always bring you a special Rule 6 that changes each week.  It is usually inspired by something that happened to me over the previous week.

Lately I’ve been buying a lot of pies.  Most often cream pies that need to be thawed.  I’ve also picked up a fruit pie or two that require baking.  Unfortunately i haven’t had much luck with the baking and have yet to successfully cook one.  It inspired the rule.

Rule #6 It’s easier to thaw than to bake.

I hope to hear from you during the next Trade-A-Thon presented by Damron’s Pawn.
