Thursday Hit And Run Fatality Involving Pedestrian

A pedestrian was found dead by police early Thursday morning.

Officers responding to a report at the area of Amarillo Boulevard West and North Travis Street discovered a man lying by the side of the road.  As they investigated they found the white male already deceased on the south side of the Boulevard in the grass median.

The man appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.  The man was identified but the name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation and the search for a suspect is ongoing.
