We tossed around ideas about salad on last Saturday's Erwin Pawn Tradio Show.

Many folks took advantage of the public service we provide every Saturday called Tradio.  We booked a ton of calls once again and a lot of people made money.  We also tried to find a lost dog and we debuted a new member of the virtual celebrity EPTS team members.

Her name is Jerri Ryan and she is dressed in her 7-of-9 Star Trek getup.  It's a card board 'standee' and she's nestled in between Ronald McDonald and Donald Trump, snuggled up with Tony Montana.  We hope to have our very own Stanley Marsh sign hung in the studio for next week.

THE BIG QUESTION

I was enjoying some romaine lettuce this last week and it got me to think how much better it is than iceberg lettuce.  Seemed like a good 'big question' and if close votes are any indication this one was.

ICEBERG 23 ROMAINE 20

And for nutrition's sake here are the numbers:

One cup of iceberg lettuce:

  • 8.0 calories
  • 0.5 gram protein
  • 0.7 gram fiber
  • 10 milligrams calcium
  • 78 milligrams potassium
  • 1.5 millgrams vitamin C
  • 16 micrograms folate
  • 13.3 micrograms of vitamin K
  • 164 micrograms beta carotene
  • 152 micrograms of lutein + zeaxanthin

One cup of romaine lettuce has:

  • 8.0 calories
  • 0.58 gram protein
  • 1.0 gram fiber
  • 16 milligrams calcium
  • 116 milligrams potassium
  • 11.3 milligrams vitamin C
  • 64 micrograms folate
  • 48.2 micrograms vitamin K
  • 1637 micrograms beta carotene
  • 1,087 micrograms of lutein + zeaxanthin.

RULE #6

This week's Rule #6, which changes every week and is subject to my personal whimsy and insanity was about memory and loss.  I kept thinking to do stuff last week and wouldn't do it right then.  Later I'd realize I forgot and again intended to do it and again forgot.  Sounds like the foundation of a good rule.

RULE #6 If you think it, do it.  If you lose it, find it.

See you next Saturday for another Erwin Pawn Tradio Show!
