You don't need a ticket to participate on The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon.

Every Saturday morning on News Talk 940 its want ads on the radio.  It's the audible classifieds called in by our listeners.  There's always plenty of buyers listening in.

THE BIG QUESTION

We ask a poll question of all our sellers before they give their listing.  It's a way for us to get to know you and provides a theme for the show that ties the calls together.  Sometimes the question comes out of left field, is often a food question, and occasionally is topical concerning news of the day.

The big news is Garth Brooks returning the the panhandle.  For several shows on and around April 1st, the legendary performer hasn't been in the area for 20 years.  Tickets went on sale Friday and they went fast.  Amazingly fast.

Although it was not generally known ahead of time, four shows in Lubbock were planned.  Those four show sold out in less than an hour.  Today it was announced there would be a fifth show.  With all those tickets being sold we were curious if you got yours.

Did you get Garth Brooks tickets?

Yes 1

No 28

He may have friends in low places but Trade-A-Thon callers are not that ginned up over his return.

RULE #6

We recite the rules of the program at the beginning of each hour.  Along with those fixed rules I bring you a special Rule #6.  It changes every week.  This week it was inspired by a conundrum I face with my significant other.

This is a common complaint.  The man asks the woman what she would like for dinner and she answers, "I don't know".  Once a restaurant is decided the man asks what she would like from the menu.  Again she says, "I don't know".  At the end of dinner you pose another question buy you already know she doesn't.

The solution to this problem is every restaurant needs a menu item called the "I don't know".  It can be whatever the restaurant wants it to be.  Good.  Bad.  Unique.

No more daily specials.  It's the "I don't know".  Next time she doesn't know she gets whatever the restaurant has decided is perfect for those who cannot make a decision.

RULE #6: All restaurants should have a menu item named, "I don't know:.

I don't know what we'll do if you don't call in this Saturday.  We might be reduced to reading listener mail if you don't.  Dig up something of nominal value and list it on the next Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon.
