Spearman Student Assaults Teacher And Is Arrested; Charged With Felony

As disturbing as the truth is, there is far too much going on in the schools other than learning in our area the last 18 months.  This time it isn't a teacher causing the problem.  Its a student.

No names have been released in the incident that happened yesterday in Spearman.  Apparently a student struck a teacher in the head with a book causing some injury.

The student was detained and eventually arrested, after much resistance.

As a teacher is a public servant the student is being charged with a felony.  Not how either of them anticipated the school year starting.
