Potter County Commissioners have approved enhanced security measures at the Road & Bridge Department.

The department has been facing several security issues.  Transients overcoming security fences and packs of wild dogs in the county are some of the security issues employees of the department face daily.

Commissioners approved the installation of security cameras at the main facility and they also determined they did not have to approve whether the employees can carry firearms.  The employees right to carry while on the job is covered under state law.

The cost for installing the security cameras was already budgeted by the county.  The cameras are scheduled to be in operation next week.

All employees at the Potter County Road & Bridge Department are concealed carry license holders and are allowed to carry while on the job.
