The authorities are advising residents to avoid 34th between Coulter and Soncy.

The reconstruction of the street began before summer ended and progress has been slow.  The rebuild of the street was supposed to be completed in December of 2014.  Construction is very behind schedule.

It has only been a couple of weeks that the recently paved side of the street was open for work to begin on the other side of the street.  It's didn't take long for potholes to develop in the new asphalt.

Unfortunately after the recent snowfall many new potholes have opened along recently opened side of the street.  The potholes are so bad the city has closed 34th eastbound from Coulter to Soncy.  The westbound lanes are still open but the authoritities advise motorists traveling down the street to use extreme caution.

The eastbound lanes are expected to open at 9am tomorrow morning.
