Man Takes Out Light Pole On I-27 Near Fillmore

Early this morning at around 12:30am Amarillo lost a light pole to an errant driver.

The incident happened and light pole were located on I-27 near Fillmore.  Amarillo police responded to the accident and upon arrival discovered a small fire in the car.  The Amarillo Fire Department was dispatched and quickly extinguished the fire.

The name of the driver's name was not released but he was taken to the hospital where he was admitted with unspecified injuries.

The cause of the crash is unknown, no other care were involved.  The incident is still under investigation by Amarillo police.
