The Amarillo Area Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum will be honoring 18 individuals whom made significant contributions to motorsports in the Amarillo Area.

The ceremony is set for Saturday night and will begin with the doors of the Amarillo Civic Center Heritage room opening at 5:00 PM for social gathering including a great collection of iconic vintage car and motorcycle displays, cocktails, unique silent auction collection, and a full dinner starting at 6:00, followed by award presentations and induction of each individual into the Amarillo Area Motorsports Hall of Fame class of 2018.

The following individuals will be honored at this year’s event: Bill Brown, Roland Brunson, Myrle Davis, Herb Edwards, Edd Funderburk, Bud Gossett, Eugene Hair, Norman “Banty” Herring, Don “Red” Nevins, Tom Pace, Don Palmer, Don Parker, Gary Pelfery, Doug “Pokey” Smith, Billy Joe Smith, Gary Taylor, R.D. Thomas, and Tuggie Tuckness.

The annual fundraising event is an opportunity for the community, supporters and friends with interest in motorsports to come together, honor the inductees as well as support the Amarillo Arear Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum’s mission of not only honoring these individuals but building of a museum to further educate and display the history of motorsports in the Amarillo area.
